As Associate Director of Enterprise Data Management, the role oversees the strategic direction and operational management of Optus' data assets, with responsibility for metadata and master data management to ensure data integrity, quality, and accessibility across the organisation. This role operates within the fast-paced, agile Data Strategy & Transformation Tribe under Optus IT’s Data Office, driving data innovation and risk management at Optus. Focused on de-risking data enterprise-wide, the Tribe uplifts controls, delivers data as a product, fosters innovation, and implements large-scale data lifecycle management.

- Develop and implement Master Data Management (MDM) strategies aligned with organisational goals, lead the MDM team, foster a culture of data excellence, and collaborate with senior leadership on data governance policies.
- Establish and enforce governance frameworks, ensure data quality and consistency across master data domains, and supervise data quality metrics to drive corrective actions.
- Improve efficiency by identifying process improvements, integrating MDM solutions with systems, and driving automation and standardization of data management processes.
- Partner with business units to address data requirements, ensure data alignment, facilitate multi-functional collaboration, and communicate data strategies to various business partners.
- Maintain compliance with data privacy regulations, manage data-related risks, implement protective controls, and stay informed on emerging data management trends.
- Develop and maintain metadata management practices to improve data discoverability and usability, ensuring metadata accuracy and consistency.

- Relevant qualifications in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field, along with equivalent experience delivering end-to-end Master Data Management (MDM) solutions.
- Strong leadership abilities paired with effective project management skills to drive MDM initiatives and team collaboration.
- Comprehensive understanding of data management technologies, best practices, and data governance frameworks, including tools for effective implementation.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, such as the SPAM Act and Privacy Law, ensuring alignment to data privacy and governance standards.
- Superb communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
