Building Assessor - Auckland or Wellington (6-months fixed term)

Reporting directly to the Asset Management & Technical Service Lead, we have an opportunity for a Building Assessor to join our team in Auckland or Wellington, with the potential to travel and deliver condition assessment projects nationwide. This is a fixed term six-month contract.

 

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and delivering a variety of asset assessment activities while fostering strong customer relationships. This position is key to ensuring projects are delivered successfully, meeting both contractual and commercial targets. Responsibilities include overseeing project staff, conducting asset condition assessments, and coordinating with sub-contractors and suppliers, all while promoting best practices in health, safety, and quality. This role also supports the wider Contract Management and Capital Projects teams in delivering exceptional results for our customers.

 

Our preferred candidates will:

  • Have a relevant tertiary engineering/trade qualification, or appropriate building assessment experience
  • Have a good understanding of building codes, theory and project management
  • Be inquisitive and analytical in nature
  • Be solutions focused with a 'can-do attitude', looking to provide effective value-added outcomes
  • Have strong communication and reporting skills
  • Have a high commitment to quality, HSE and environmental management
  • Be self-motivated and driven towards commercial success
