As a Data Science Analyst, you are proactive and curious about finding hidden patterns in data to deliver better customer and business outcomes. You collaborate with your colleagues to drive data led decision making across Telstra. By supporting the business to identify opportunities and risks you are central to our success.

Key Responsibilities

This is how you’ll bring the purpose of your role to life.

  • Play an active role in integrating multiple data sources, identifying trends and providing meaningful insights that tell a compelling story and answer relevant questions for the business. Insights require:

    • Complex understanding and representation of promotional impacts on demand

    • Strong domain knowledge on various accessories and behaviour

    • Comprehensive understanding of different algorithms and modelling packages

    • Analysis of financial benefits on a granular level

    • Development of high accuracy models across a long term forecasting timeline

  • Mine, analyse and model data from complex data sets using advanced data science techniques to help generate insights and recommendations that add value to stakeholders and customers.

  • Use predictive and prescriptive analytics to generate insights for actionable recommendations based on impact and value for the business

  • Collaborate with the team to assess the feasibility of a scope of work and understand, translate and design for user requirements

  • Define business problems, assist with the development of hypotheses, undertake relevant reporting, summarise the insights and make recommendations for action

  • Resolve stakeholder queries independently and refer to others when genuinely needed

  • Advanced experience in working with forecasting leveraging deep learning, FB Prophet, Statistical methods, Regression, and other latest ML techniques

  • Advanced experience in creating and building Power BI dashboards

  • Advanced experience in creating automated AI solutions in AzureML

  • Advanced experience in creating classification models and clustering

  • Proficiency in Python, Excel, Power BI, SQL

  • Determining the methodology and tracking financial impact of various AI solutions

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication of solutions

  • Play an active role in the Data Science community by developing your knowledge of cutting-edge advancements in big data and data science and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
