Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting Communication and Events Coordinator (Student Equity and Wellbeing) to join the Student Equity and Wellbeing Portfolio on a permanent, full-time contract.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate the communication and events for Manawa Ora–Student Wellbeing, Te Amaru - Disability Services, Kahukura - Rainbow and Inclusion, and Tauira Konene - Refugee services, working closely with content experts, and our University student and staff partners.
- Embrace innovative approaches to creating quality events and communication that empower students to thrive and embed equity inclusion and wellbeing into the culture of our University.
- Develop, edit and format newsletter, publications and social media copy.
- Create and edit fully accessible internet/intranet content.
- Create quality graphics and video content.
- Coordinate service lead events and contribute to University wide events.
- Develop and implement an annual communication and events plan for the Portfolio that aligns with our priorities.

You will be a highly organised, motivated person with excellent communication and events coordination skills who wants to make a difference doing meaningful work.
Key requirements:
- Experience in communications including social media, digital platforms and writing content.
- Experience in writing web content.
- Experience in event coordination.
- Experience, knowledge and awareness of the University environment and the key issues for students.
- Excellent organisation skills.
- Ability to stay calm, confident when organising events.
