Your Role
To ensure Chubb New Zealand’s products are designed, implemented, and managed to achieve planned growth and profitability targets on their digital platforms. Ideally, you will be a seasoned underwriting professional that has experience with contributing to digital insurance product builds and is able to consult and convey strategy to all areas of the New Zealand business.
Your responsibilities will be two- fold:
Senior Underwriting
- Ensure that digital underwriting practices meet Chubb standards through proper implementation of peer review, underwriting authority statements, underwriting audit, and other quality control processes.
- Assist with the monitoring of production, profitability, new business, and retention targets so as to ensure that digital products are performing as per expectations and take action to address any current or potential risks to delivery of target results.
- When necessary, assist Product Lines in creating premium calculation logic and assist in the UAT of the rating tools/engine.
Digital
- Act as the NZ lead for digital opportunities that enhance the NZ business through adoption of new and emerging technology, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to prioritise within the wider ANZ Digital business.
- Develop and maintain digital product wordings, documentation, question sets, business rules, process, and terms and conditions.
- Work with the digital team to define and document stakeholders' needs with respect to any digital platform implementation and provide information/answers back into the ANZ digital business (e.g. digital segmentation, process engineering, system engineering).
- Prepare training and communication plans for digital product releases and carry out the communication in-conjunction with Lines of Business and the Communication team. This includes internal stakeholders and external (intermediaries etc) communication.
- Work closely with Claims Operational Stakeholders to ensure that end to end product allows leverage to Claims systems for automation, and/or data driven insights
- Participate in the ANZ digital business ceremonies such as Sprint Reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews and assist with backlog prioritisation
QualificationsYour Skills & Experience
- Previous Commercial Insurance underwriting experience essential – minimum 5+ years. A full understanding of the Insurance Industry and how Client/Broker/Insurer relationships operate is a must.
- End to end product ownership experience (end to end product ownership) experience is desirable.
- Strong working knowledge of product distribution via market facing platforms, sales processes, and product marketing.
- Experience in product pricing and profitability metrics and drivers.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated leadership and organisational skills through past management experience.
- Proven success in sales and product performance.
- Working towards or obtained ANZIIF qualifications.
