About the Programme: 

ATNZ is offering an exciting opportunity to join our Fluid Power Engineering Certificate Programme. This NZQA-approved Level 3 programme equips individuals with the essential knowledge and practical skills to excel as Fluid Power Technicians. Fluid Power involves using hydraulic and pneumatic systems to transmit energy, enabling efficient mechanical operations across various industries.

 

What You’ll Learn:

  • Health & Safety: Apply workplace policies, risk assessments, and safety culture to perform engineering tasks safely.
  • Trade Calculations: Conduct basic calculations for Fluid Power engineering tasks.
  • Tool Maintenance: Select and maintain hand and portable power tools for engineering tasks.
  • Fluid Power Systems: Understand components, symbols, circuit diagrams, hazards, and principles to perform engineering tasks.
  • System Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance, including removal and replacement of parts.

 

Graduate Outcomes: 

Upon completion, graduates will be equipped to work under supervision as entry-level Fluid Power Technicians in various specializations. This programme also provides pathways to higher-level qualifications in mechanical engineering and trades management.

 

Entry Requirements:

  • New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • At least 16 years of age (unless early leaving exemption has been granted)
  • Employed in a relevant role in the Fluid Power or Mechanical Engineering sector
